Pretty spot on here by Stubbs. I didn’t see this Rollercoaster tour as never came to Ireland but I had been to MBV in Dublin on their Loveless tour that same year. Was exactly as he describes here and not a patch on the great Cork gig I saw them play in early 1990 on their Glider EP tour. Dino Jr never deviated an inch from gig to gig by that point and still don’t to this day.
I seem to recall that he was notorious for messy behaviour in the early 90s (appearing on TOTP high in 1991, lots of snogging people and getting his kit off). Far from the OBE-holding elder statesman of today. Truly the Jim Morrison of Colchester.

ReplyDeleteI saw J Mascis solo in 2019. It was good - except the audience was all 52 year old divorced graphic designers.
DeleteWhat, did Damon get his tadge out?
