Paul Morley - Bauhaus live - NME March 6 1982

part of the '82 quintology of anti-rockist live reviews -  this Bauhaus sacrilege was preceded by a dry run, doing a similar trick with Kirk Brandon's ears

  1. Great piece. I am sure the Maxell marketing department were paying attention.
Given where Morley started, it is quite funny that his latest incarnation is as an apostle of Classical music, telling everyone to listen to Debussy and Ravel. He who f***s nuns, I suppose. Although perhaps the Thomas Mann references in that Bauhaus review were a clue as to where he would one day end up.

  2. It is a strange journey for sure.
