Not sure what's more interesting - that Morley was writing like himself basically from jump, or that he was a Van der Graaf fan (albeit one who's trying to stealthily extricate himself in the light of Year Zero)
Hammill was the thinking music fan's choice for a lot of people pre-punk - most famously John Lydon. Also I think he was from Manchester (?) so there's a bit of rooting for the local boy maybe.
Yes, he's fully formed, isn't he, aged what something like 20 or 21.
I like the bit where he has the Coca Cola girl speechifying his own aesthetic viewpoints. The Art versus Entertainment polarity fits my Triangle of Folk / Art / Showbiz.
